Heel Pain
While a very common condition, Heel pain can be extremely uncomfortable and painful when met with proper care and treatment. Heel pain may occur if you injure or overuse the heel. When not taken cared of, the affected area may worsen, limiting your mobility and making it difficult simple everyday tasks.
There are many different causes of heel pain, including strains or sprains, stress fractures, tarsal tunnel syndrome, Achilles tendonitis, and heel bursitis. Heel pain can also occur in children's as well as adults. A very common cause of heel pain in children is Sever's disease, which can develop due to overuse or the result of micro trauma which occurs in the heels bones growth plates.
A soft tissue mass, poor circulation, poor posture of walking, rupture of Achilles tendon, are some of many other causes for heel pain. Resting and offloading the area can often help with heel pain, as well as certain exercises.
